What a fabulous book! My nine-year-old found a whole new thing to enjoy about Disneyland- all the secrets! While we took our littlest on rides, our oldest was on the lookout for hidden Mickeys, and filling our time waiting in lines with fun trivia about the park. This book is great for kids and adults alike!
We read it as a family BEFORE our trip to Disneyland. Our kids (ages 8 and 6) loved knowing these extra special tidbits of info and pointed out many of the "behind the scenes secrets" during our stay. It definitely gave our whole family a deeper appreciation and love of the park (and Walt Disney).
Overall this was a great book. My kids and I enjoyed reading it before our trip.The book reports, "Your boat drops down a 52-foot waterfall and then a second 37-foot drop." The length of the drop (or waterfall) might be that long, but the HEIGHT of the first drop is approximately 14 feet and the second drop is approximately 8-10 feet the next. As a reference to another ride, the height of the largest drop in Disneyland is on Splash Mountian which is approximately 49 feet. Not a huge issue but for someone reading the book who has never been on the ride, that might be a bit misleading.

We are big Disney buffs and purchased this for my 6 year old daughter. She reads at a 4th grade reading level, and this is great for her! It's easy, fun to read, and pictures.
This book gives you some major highlights from the lore and history of disneyland. You will learn much about the Magic Kingdom if you haven't explored the deeper subject of it before. It gives you statistics and data as well as background stories and some history of the place.
It provides a whole new experience level for Disneyland visitors. My grandsons are continually reciting facts about the rides and the park.
