About the Author
Chris Ferrie is an award-winning physicist and Senior Lecturer for Quantum Software and Information at the University of Technology Sydney. He has a Masters in Applied Mathematics, BMath in Mathematical Physics and a PhD in Applied Mathematics. He lives in Australia with his wife and children.

I have a PhD in biology, and still learned something from reading this book! So when they claim that this book can be read to babies, toddlers and older kids, I'd say they can safely increase the age bracket to include grown-ups. I managed to read the whole book in one sitting, though, so that PhD paid off ; )Seriously, though, I think this makes a great book for kids age 3-4 and up. Younger kids can learn their ABCs and new words, and older kids can take it as a starting point to then go learn more about things on their own.
We love this! My three year old was engaged the whole way through- she loves learning new words and momma loves science. At “R is for Radiation†she even had to go fetch a lightbulb and we spent 15 minutes talking about electricity. Awesome conversation starter, and a very welcomed change from pink and princesses. And, as you can see, even the baby enjoyed the pictures. :)
I learned as I read this book to my 4 month old today. I know when she's older I'm going to have to brush up on my knowledge of some of the things in the book so I can answer questions. I'm very glad I bought it. At my daughter's age, it's also more interesting for me to read it to her than a lot of other children's books.
Perfect for the pretentious science person in your life.
I really enjoy reading this with my eight month old twin girls and so do their siblings. The books are colourful and also you can vary how much you read for every age group. I also enjoy the fact that it is larger than most board books for easier handling. A way to increase interest in STEM for all my kids.
This book is great! I aslo got the Mathematics one too. My son is almost 2 and he loves them. Both of us are learning from these books :)
I got this book for my 18 month old son to start enjoying. It has a lot of great information in it and great illustrations. You can either page through the book reading the letters and looking at the pictures or you can read a little snippet about the subject of the letter.I would definitely recommend this book.
Kids of all ages can read this!. I bought it for my two year old for Christmas because it never to early to introduce your child to science. Well my co-worker who's child is 7 years old loved this book that I bought it twice!!!... I even learned a thing or two
