Wow, what another amazing read!!I loved how we basically picked up here from where we left off in book one. I love it when authors do that because it makes it feel as if the story really didn't end. It just continues on like nothing happened.The characters are awesome. Different time, different place, but the same characters....Well, some of them anyway...To find out what I am talking about, hurry and purchase your copy today!!The story-line was fan-flipping-tastic!! Bond kept me addicted throughout the entire story. I pulled an all-nighter because I just couldn't put it down. It's full of edge of your seat suspense, romance, hatred and pure mystery all wrapped into one unforgettable story. I really want book three really bad, because I CRAVE MORE RIGHT NOW!!! I just can't seem to get enough of this saga and these cliffhangers are KILLING me!! I highly recommend this read!!
We continue where we left off from the first book, and it's getting really exciting! Loving the way the settings change since they're time traveling. I enjoyed this read, and can't wait for the next adventure! Very Pirates of the Caribbean if you ask me :) Pirates and vamps! Ooh, what a combination! This was indeed a page turner, and gave me a book hangover!Looks like "the leader" (for those who haven't really read) really screwed things up! Looks like he is the one who put the humans in danger in the first place! And A? Ugh. He's blinded by his hatred and jealousy that he isn't thinking straight!I am enjoying T and E though. Ok, both E and E! Hahaha! Go read the book so you know who and what I'm talking about!
OMG, so freaking awesome! Enoch is still hot!! I’m really loving this new take on vampires. Nope, no sparkling. Just good storytelling. Which this author is known for.I don’t do spoilers. I will say this....READ this! Grab first book, then this. Be ready to look like a raccoon for a few days from lack of sleep. But so worth it!
I absolutely love this this series. I absolutely love Eve and Enoch. I highly recommend this series... I can't wait to read the next one!!!
High Seas is the second book in the High Stakes Saga and cannot be read as a stand alone. Eve is also an amazing character as she struggles with knowing everything she was taught to believe and be is a lie.While the story is Eve and Enoch’s, the side characters play an integral role. For me, the ancillary character that I can’t wait to see more of in the coming book is Maru, Eve’s trainer. He has been used as much as she was and I can’t wait to see how he is able to assist with getting Eve back to present day so she can work to stop all the destruction caused by the people she thought were the good guys.High Seas was fast paced, full of adventure and will take readers on an emotional rollercoaster they’ll want to continue riding when High Society releases next. 5 stars!
Bond takes us on yet another fully engaging journey through time with High Seas, book two in the High Stakes Saga. Please note, you must read High Stakes, Book One to follow along with this new release. Although this novel is a combination of SCI-FI and paranormal I’d also go as far as to describe this novel as “The Originals†meets “Pirates of the Caribbean†as Bond takes you to new depths in the high seas of the South Atlantic.Eve, Titus and Abram find themselves thrust into 1717 in the British Isles of the South Atlantic. Each arriving close to their target only to find they are no longer the only assets set out to destroy the three original vampires. Eve and Enoch’s romance and attraction are just as present in High Seas as it was in book one, High Stakes. However, Bond brings their relationship a step further by darkening the romance between the years they were apart. Enoch is no longer a free spirit creating acts of kindness for the people among him. Instead, he is a darker, more sad version of himself. He is a vulnerable vampire teetering on the brink of humanity. It’s easy to see what has caused the shift the siblings and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. On top of that, Bond adds yet another layer to the three Assets as she unravels the past and the cruelty experienced at the hands of Kael, the doctor who engineered them to kill the vamps. Together the Vamps and Assets must determine who the true villain really is.Although that seems like a bit of a plot line mouthful, somehow Bond makes it all work together. Her story is unique, descriptive, and completely fascinating. Although it features a few different genres, each one is equally present causing a perfect blend. Once again, she has made a novel that is hard to put down. High Seas was engaging from cover to cover leaving me wanting more from these characters. I am so excited to see where Bond takes us next.
